On January 28th, 2026, CEIP Adelaida de la Calle hosted the third meeting of the BILITRAMS XI working group. The session helped us move forward with planning activities, training, and sharing the project throughout the 2025–26 school year.
Another step towards inclusion in bilingual settings
One of the main points of the meeting was setting up the teacher training plan, focused on attention to diversity in bilingual classrooms. Some of the key ideas included spotting learning barriers, using strategies like scaffolded reading and multi-level tasks, and creating CLIL materials with digital tools like eXeLearning. All of this follows the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach, making sure learning is accessible for everyone.
Learning by doing: inter-school activities
The BILITRAMS group keeps going strong with active methodologies that boost student participation and help develop communication skills in English through different abilities and strengths. In this line, two really meaningful inter-school activities have been planned:
1. Red Nose Day (April 24th)
Inspired by British culture, this will be a charity talent show in English. Students from different schools will come together to perform music, comedy, dance, magic, and more. Besides practicing real-life English, the activity promotes creativity, teamwork, and solidarity, as there will be a small voluntary donation for a charity or social project.
2. Intergenerational English workshop (May 15th – Family Day)
This activity brings learning into a more emotional and meaningful space: the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren. Students will teach their grandparents how to communicate in English through a fun breakfast role-play.
This not only strengthens family bonds but also boosts students’ confidence—especially for those who may struggle in a traditional classroom—by putting them in the role of “experts.”
Both activities clearly show a strong commitment to inclusive education, where every student can take part, use their strengths, and feel involved in the learning process.
Sharing and spreading the project
We also talked about how important it is to share everything we’re doing. CEIP Los Morales took part in “La Cantera” on Andalucía Directo, which is a great way to show the impact of the project. There’s also the idea of presenting BILITRAMS at educational conferences through talks or articles.
We also agreed on creating a common BILITRAMS poster for bilingual corners in schools and uploading all materials to the blog and shared Drive, making collaboration even easier.
The session ended with the usual “BILITRAMS TEA”, a relaxed moment to chat, share ideas, and enjoy some time together.
All in all, BILITRAMS XI keeps moving forward towards an educational model where bilingualism and inclusion go hand in hand, showing that learning a foreign language can be meaningful, engaging, and accessible for every student.
